💪 Flexible Working

All of our staff can work flexibly by choosing their working hours to suit how they work best and fit work around their commitments, such as academic studies or volunteering.

Full-time staff have a set of Core Hours (Mon - Wed, 10:00 - 14:00), but have full flexibility outside of these times.

🏠 Remote Working

All of our staff work on a hybrid model, so they have a choice of working in our office at CENTRAL TECH or remotely elsewhere.

Further, all of our meetings are hybrid by default, meaning that you can join remotely via Microsoft Teams.

👔 CPD Scheme

Full-time staff can spend one day each month (or equivalent time) working on projects that interest them and will help them to up-skill.

For example, a software developer might spend CPD learning a new programming language or contribute to open source code.

Check out Tom’s blog post to read about an example of CPD work.

🤝 Open Communication

As a small, lean organisation, we don’t suffer under layers of bureaucracy and corporate jargon. We use a casual, but straight-forward and direct communication within our team.

Staff have regular 1:1 meetings with their manager to catch-up and keep progress on track.

🔊 Having a Voice

By joining Harker, you’ll be working in a small team where everyone’s opinion and input is truly heard and valued. We encourage staff to speak their minds in meetings and everyone’s views are treated equally.

You’ll be in ‘the room where it happens’, in meetings where key discussions are held and decisions are made.

♿ Inclusive Practices

Harker is a Disability Confident Leader organisation, meaning that we have developed our recruitment and employment processes to be inclusive to disabled staff.

As an organisation founded and led by disabled people, we encourage applicants from disabled talent and are committed to helping those staff thrive in our workplace.

👖 No Dress Code

Wear whatever you work best in! Unless we have a client meeting, you’ll find most of our staff in jeans and t-shirts.
